The Arts and Learning Programme at Asia House is the not-for-profit division of the organisation’s activities. It is completely unique in the UK in presenting a pan-Asian artistic and cultural programme with a scope of more than 40 countries in the region. Through our programme of events on arts, culture and education we act as a catalyst for the discovery of the diverse arts and cultures of Asia and the Asian diaspora, and serve as a bridge of understanding between the UK and Asia.
Our mission is to inspire and attract new and diverse audiences to our dynamic programme of year-round events from exhibitions and panel discussions to music, literature, dance, performance, visual art, film and fashion.
Some of our previous events have included hosting authors such as Elif Shafak, Michael Palin and Mohsin Hamid, hosting prizes such as the Art Gemini Prize and hosting events with celebrity chefs such as Ken Hom and Ching He Huang.
Event Volunteers
Asia House is looking for enthusiastic event volunteers to assist in set up and on site logistics of our cultural events.
As a volunteer, you will gain invaluable skills and experience in events and logistics management, while contributing to making our events a continued success. You will also be able to attend a host of exciting events.
Your responsibilities will include checking in guests and directing them to the events, making sure speakers are looked after, handling microphones during audience Q&A, handing out and collecting audience-feedback surveys etc.
We are looking for enthusiastic people with strong communication skills, who show good initiative and have an interest in Asian arts and culture. Please note that fluency in English is a pre-requisite. Volunteers must also be aged 18 and over.
Volunteers will be compensated for travel to and from events. Please note that our events generally run on weekday evenings and your help will be required from roughly 5.30 – 9pm.

Content Writers (voluntary)
Are you passionate about Asian arts and culture? Do you enjoy writing in your spare time? We are looking for regular volunteer contributors for our website and social media pages.
Aside from writing about our events (previews & post-event pieces), we would also like comment and interest pieces, the latest news in Asian arts and culture, interviews and anything else that our audience will find engaging.
We are looking for enthusiastic people with strong communication and writing skills, who have an interest in and understanding of Asian arts and culture and have lots of great content ideas. Please note that fluency in English is a pre-requisite. Writers must also be aged 18 and over. All pieces of writing will be subject to Asia House’s approval and we retain full publishing control.
Volunteers will be compensated for any travel they undertake in order to write content pieces.
