Louis de Bernières: Setting the Scene in Ceylon

Louis de Bernières: Setting the Scene in Ceylon

18 September 2018

Bestselling author of Captain Corelli’s Mandolin (Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, Best Book, 1995), Louis de Bernières, joined us at the Asia House Bagri Foundation Literature Festival to talk about his latest book The Dust that Falls from Dreams and how the setting of colonial Ceylon continues to play a part in his work. The author was in conversation with Bhavit Mehta, who has worked as a publisher, translator and festival director.

Before his talk, we caught up with Louis behind-the-scenes to find out more about his work – and what he’s got coming up next.
