Art exhibition opening reception
Join emerging Iranian artist Ghazaleh Avarzamani for drinks at the opening reception of her November exhibition, Apologie For Understanding.
Avarzamani (b.1980), who is based in London, received her MA Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, London. Her works have been exhibited in Iran, Dubai and London. She enjoys exploring obsessions with hybridity, gender, religion, sex and identity.
In Apologie For Understanding, Avarzamani painstakingly renders a vision of Utopia and steers viewers towards understanding the intricacies of language. The ultimate message conveyed by Avarzamani’s work is that any notion of happiness is not only culturally subjective, but often unrealizable and illusory.
The exhibition Apologie For Understanding runs from 3 November until 14 November and is open to the public with free admission.
Curated by Mariam Neza, Asia House.
