Join us to re-create a day in a temple with repeating performances from 12pm to 8pm by Paris-based Korean traditional dancer Jaehyun An and Asia House’s former artist/choreographer-in -residence Yong Min Cho. Silence will give participants the opportunity to take a break from every day life, drink tea and interact with the dancers, whilst exploring the interrelationship between meditation, silence and sound.
Yong Min Cho (UK/South Korea/Italy)
Yong Min Cho began his dance studies at the Italian dance theatre school founded by Paolo Grassi, Piccolo Teatro, in Milan. After three years training in Milan he moved to Venice to join the Academia Isola Danza, where he worked with the renowned American contemporary dance choreographer Carolyn Carlson and as a dancer at the Centro Teatrale di Ricerca Venezia. Since 2005, he has been living and working in London whilst touring in Italy and South Korea. During 2014 he was the choreographer-in-residence at Asia House London, and performed Bridging Colours White.
Jaehyun An (France/Korea)
Jaehyun An is a Korean traditional dancer and choreographer, having graduated from Wonkwang University, South Korea. She has lived in France since 2010 where she has performed numerous times at the Korean Cultural Centre, Paris.
Due to unforeseen cirumstances Na Young Kim is no longer able to perform as part of this project. We are very pleased to be working with Jaehyun An instead.

Opened by the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in January 2008 in London under the jurisdiction of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the Korean Cultural Centre UK has played a vital role in the enhancement of friendship and mutual understanding between Korea and the UK through cultural and educational activities.
Between each performance there will be a chance to drink tea and sample some special temple tofu bites prepared by Korean food artist Hyungsoo Yim.
The 30-minute performance by Yong Min Cho and Jaehyun An will be repeated at four different times during the day on the first floor at the following times:
12.30 – 13.00
