The Living Goddess

For centuries Nepal has observed a unique tradition; a little girl is chosen as a goddesss to watch over the country until she reaches puberty. Isabella Tree has spent years investigating the tradition and has written about it in her new book The Living Goddess.

Who are these girls and why are they considered sacred? Are the initiation rituals as gruesome as rumoured to be? And what happens to these girls once they are dismissed as goddesses?

All will be illuminated in this engrossing talk.
